Hi. Chelsea here.
Today, I am sharing what I am calling a “go places” feature — a photo journey of a place I have seen that, of course, involves cocktails….BUT MORE THAN THAT.
I’ve been aching for a new project. New content. New stuff. I am not sure what that is going to look like yet (I’ve been heavily considering a video series), but for now, I just want to share….more. So, today I am posting my journey through Phoenix and Scottsdale Arizona from February.
Every year, my sisters and I do a trip together about the same time because we all have birthdays within 2 weeks of each other. And last year, my bae Andrea from Bitters Lab started coming with us (she’s basically an adopted sister at this point). I had never been to Arizona before and I really fell in love with the desert.
Cocktails, amazing food, a day at the most luxurious spa, hanging with local friends, hiking mountains, botanical gardens, biking through Scottsdale — and more. This little part of the world offered way more than I was expecting and such a short trip from SLC. I’ll be back.
Also, fun to note: it was Arizona Cocktail Week when we went and we went to literally ZERO cocktail events. Crazy? Yes. But that didn’t mean we didn’t enjoy some wonderful libations.
Here’s what happened.
Travel and arrival in Phoenix:
We dropped the littlest nugget you see in these photos off with her nana once we landed.
Omni Spa and Resort | Joya Spa (AKA heaven):
This was such a treat. Massages, pedicures, manicures, cocktails by the pool, and delicious food. Also, NAP ROOM. That’s a thing.
Tacos, Tequila, Whiskey | Arcadia:
This was the first restaurant we went to and the tacos were delicious and the cocktails on point! Also, great outdoor bar patio!
Hiking Piestewa Peak Dreamy Draw Trails
Our hike wasn’t easy and if you’re afraid of heights like I am, just be warned it is quite steep. But it was well worth it and I burned my usual Saturday calories! Bonus!
Desert Botanical Gardens
Go here. If you are in Phoenix EVER — GO HERE. One of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. Worth every penny and every hour. Also, they have a great on-site restaurant with a KILLER prickly pear margarita.
Day in Scottsdale | Lime Bikes Forever….
Go to Scottsdale and ride bikes around and stop for cocktails. This is your recipe for an amazing day.
Hulu’s Modern Tiki Bar
Tiki anything = happiness.
It was a great, quick trip. We did so much in a short amount of time and I would recommend any of these activities to anyone who is visiting the area. We didn’t get to a lot of the places on my list, but that is all the more reason to go back.
Hope you liked the ride.
