On inauguration day, I don’t know about you, but I definitely needed something to help me get through. The good news is that I had just received a bottle of the BRAND SPANKING NEW Beehive Distilling’s Organic Vodka! Soooo – a Bloody Mary was in order.

Bloody Mary

I know that everyone has their tricks for a good bloody mary — and I have mine as well. I like a pretty mild bloody mary, spice wise, but I like a salty, vinegary bite. And also, you gotta have a good vodka (Pst, go get a bottle of Beehive Organic Vodka — it’s super crisp and clean!).

For those of you in Salt Lake and love supporting local, I highly recommend picking up some of Salt Lake Spice Co’s spicy salts. For this bloody, I used their Sriracha Sea Salt, and it gave it just enough kick!

For one more local piece of love, add some Bitters Lab Habanero Lime bitters — this is the kind of spice I LOVE, rather than spice heavily mixed with black pepper or hot sauce.

Bloody Mary

Here is my simple recipe for my Inauguration Day Bloody Mary. Sure, the Inauguration is over….but there is still MUCH to drink about. Cheers.

For the bloody mix —

Combine
4 oz tomato juice (or vegetable juice)
1 oz pickle juice (straight from your pickle jar!)
.5 oz red wine vinegar
1 oz fresh lime juice
2 dashes Bitters Lab Habanero Lime Bitters
1 dash black pepper
1 dash Worcestershire sauce

If you want a super spicy mix, you can
add any hot sauce you would like.

For the cocktail —

Rim glass or mug with Salt Lake Spice Co Sriracha Sea Salt
Fill glass or mug with ice and add:

2 oz (or 6 oz if you need to forget the mess we are currently in)
Beehive Distilling Organic Vodka
5 oz Bloody Mary Mix (above)

Stir well!

Garnish with: fresh chives, limes, cocktail onions, pickles, peppers, tomatoes, olives, celery, bacon, ANYTHING YOU LOVE!

Drink away the terrible fascist policy that is currently happening here in the good ol’ USA! 🙂

Signed, a #nastywoman. ❤
