Today, my fellow cocktail lovers,
I bring you a great cocktail recipe for
these dreary winter days.

Winter Brunswick Flip

One of my favorite things to do when creating cocktails is assess what I have around the house already, research some classic cocktails that might have ingredients that are currently in my fridge, and then create my own spin.

Today’s cocktail is a riff on a cocktail called The Brunswick, originally created by Ehren Ashkenazi of The Modern in NYC. I found a take on THAT cocktail over at Serious Eats….and the cocktail I bring you today is sort of my version of that. Ha! My main motivators for this cocktail were 1) Carpano Antica Formula (maybe my favorite vermouth) and 2) Grapefruit.

So, as you can see, sometimes creating a cocktail at home is all about getting inspiration from other bartenders who are doing similar things to the dream in your brain (or what’s on hand), and it all comes together.

The Winter Brunswick Flip is one of those cocktails.
I hope you enjoy!
